Fly4MEdia — Opening the way the work does: making aerial cinematography understood, credible, and bookable in seconds.

Aerial Cinematography · Calgary, Alberta · Launched 2025 · Live site: fly4me.ca

Fly4MEdia is an aerial cinematography and drone photography studio based in Calgary, Alberta, serving clients across real estate, tourism, lifestyle, industrial, and commercial work. Local Cochrane Web Design built its website to open the way the studio's reels do — full-frame flight footage first — then to convert that impression into commercial enquiries through a clear 'Start a project' path.

Aerial cinematography is a service many clients have never bought before. The site's strategic job was to collapse three explanations into one experience: what this is, why it's worth commissioning, and how to start. The footage itself answers the first two the moment the page opens; the structure — five named services, a project portfolio spanning 2024 to 2026, and direct contact — answers the third. A client's words on the live site capture the intended effect: 'Looked like a film. Moved like a sales tool.'

The challenge

An unfamiliar service faces a double conversion problem: the visitor must first understand the offering, then believe this particular studio can deliver it. Text-first explanation fails the first test; showreel-only presentation fails the second — beautiful footage with no commercial framing produces admiration, not enquiries.

The site also had to speak to five distinct client types — real estate to industrial — without fragmenting into five different pitches.

Strategic objectives

  1. Let the work make the first argument: full-frame aerial footage as the opening experience, understood before a word is read.
  2. Convert cinematic impression into commercial action through a clear, low-friction 'Start a project' path.
  3. Structure five service lines so each client type recognizes their use case without diluting the studio's single identity.
  4. Establish credibility for first-time buyers through a real project portfolio and client testimony.

The opening frame does the explaining

No paragraph explains aerial cinematography as fast as three seconds of it.

The site opens full-frame with flight footage — the Canadian Rockies, movement, perspective — making the product self-evident before any copy loads into the visitor's attention.

The 'what is this?' question dissolves on arrival. Every second after opening is spent on credibility and action instead of explanation.

Five doors, one studio

A realtor, a tourism board, and an industrial client are buying different outcomes from the same craft.

The service architecture names five clear lines — aerial cinematography, FPV filming, aerial photography, real estate media, tourism and lifestyle — each recognizable to its buyer, all carried by one coherent studio identity.

Each client type self-identifies in one scan. The studio reads as specialized to everyone, generic to no one.

From reel to project

Commercial buyers don't 'get in touch' — they start projects. The language of the conversion path is part of the positioning.

The conversion architecture pairs 'View our work' with 'Start a project' — proof and action as the site's two primary verbs — with direct contact one step away.

The path from impressed to engaged is one decision long, framed in the language of commissioned work. Enquiries arrive as projects, not as vague questions.

The mobile experience

Footage-first design carries real risk on phones — bandwidth, attention, and thumb ergonomics all punish heavy experiences. The mobile build keeps the cinematic opening while holding the practical layer close: services scannable, the project path reachable, and nothing essential locked behind the motion.

Search & discoverability

The studio's search identity is anchored to its real shape: named service lines, a real project portfolio with dates, an Alberta base with wider availability — crawlable structure beneath a cinematic surface, so both search engines and AI systems can state plainly what the studio does and where.
